All sales at LA Mattress Store are final once delivery is complete, but we back every purchase with two protections that cover the most common reasons a mattress doesn't work out: the 120-night Love Your Bed Guarantee for comfort fit, and the manufacturer warranty for defects. This page covers both, plus separate policies for furniture and accessories.
120-Night Love Your Bed Guarantee (mattress comfort exchange)
If your new mattress doesn't feel right — too firm, too soft, hot, off-balance, anything — you can exchange it for a different model within 120 nights of delivery. We credit the full original purchase price toward the new mattress; pay the difference if you upgrade or receive a refund of the difference if you downgrade.
How it works
- Sleep on it for at least 30 nights first. Your body needs roughly a month to adjust to a new mattress — most first-week complaints (back stiffness, restless sleep) turn out to be the body adapting, not the mattress being wrong. We require 30 nights minimum before processing an exchange.
- Call the showroom where you bought it. Talk to a sleep consultant about what's not working. Sometimes the fix is a different topper, a different pillow, or adjusting room temperature. If a different mattress is the real answer, they'll walk you through the exchange process.
- Pick the replacement. Come in and try other mattresses on the showroom floor. Sleep consultants will help match the new pick to what's not working with the current one.
- We deliver the new mattress and remove the old one. White-glove delivery and old-mattress haul-away come standard on every exchange.
What's covered
- Every mattress sold by LA Mattress Store, full retail price.
- One exchange per original purchase.
- Mattress must be in good condition (no stains, no damage beyond normal use) — we recommend using a mattress protector from day one (we provide one free on every delivery if requested).
What's not covered
- Foundations, bed frames, adjustable bases, headboards, sheets, pillows, and other accessories. These follow the separate furniture policy below.
- Mattresses purchased outside of LA Mattress Store (different retailer).
- Floor-model / clearance mattresses sold "as-is" — these are clearly marked at purchase.
Manufacturer warranty (defects)
Every mattress carries a manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Term varies by brand and model but typically 10 years for innerspring and hybrid; 10-25 years for memory foam and latex. Covers sagging beyond spec (most brands: a 1.5" or deeper body impression with the mattress on a proper foundation), broken or shifted coils, faulty cover stitching, and similar manufacturing issues. Does not cover normal wear, comfort preference changes, stains, or damage from improper foundation. Detailed terms vary by brand — ask your sleep consultant or see Mattress warranty details.
How to file a warranty claim
Call the showroom where you purchased. We coordinate directly with the manufacturer on your behalf, including pickup/inspection logistics, replacement scheduling, and any prorated credit. Keep your original receipt; warranty registration is automatic on every LA Mattress purchase — you don't need to do anything at delivery time.
Furniture (foundations, bed frames, headboards, dressers)
Furniture carries a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturer defects. If you encounter a defect — broken slat, faulty hardware, finish issue not caused by normal use — within the first year, contact us within 7 days of noticing the issue. We coordinate the manufacturer's warranty service or replacement. After the first year, manufacturer terms apply (varies by brand).
Accessories (pillows, sheets, protectors, toppers)
Accessories are final sale unless defective on arrival. If a pillow or sheet set arrives damaged or defective, contact the showroom within 7 days for a replacement. Hygiene items (pillows, sheets, mattress protectors) cannot be returned once opened.
Delivery damage
Inspect your delivery before our drivers leave. If anything's damaged in transit, point it out on the spot and we'll replace the affected item — no return process needed. Damage discovered after delivery is acceptance: contact the showroom within 48 hours of delivery and we'll work with you on the right outcome.
Refunds (cancellations before delivery)
Orders cancelled before delivery are refunded in full to the original payment method, typically within 3-5 business days. Once delivery is scheduled and the truck has left the warehouse, the Love Your Bed Guarantee replaces cancellation — the order ships, and if the mattress isn't right after 30+ nights, the comfort exchange kicks in.
