What are the dimensions of a queen mattress?
A standard queen mattress measures 60 inches wide by 80 inches long. It's the most popular mattress size in the US, offering comfortable space for couples and ample room for solo sleepers who like to spread out.
What firmness is best for a queen mattress?
The best firmness depends on your sleep position. Side sleepers generally prefer medium to medium-soft for shoulder and hip pressure relief. Back sleepers do best with medium-firm. Stomach sleepers typically need firm support to keep the spine aligned.
Do I need a box spring with a queen mattress?
Not necessarily. Modern queen mattresses work well on platform beds, adjustable bases, or slatted frames (with slats no more than 3 inches apart). A box spring is optional and mainly needed for older bed frames designed for them.
