For a mattress to carry GOTS certification, all textile components  -  including cotton covers and wool batting  -  must be made from at least 70% certified organic fibers (95% for "organic" label, 70% for "made with organic" label). The standard also restricts harmful chemicals in processing and requires social compliance throughout the supply chain. GOTS certification is verified by accredited third-party certifiers and renewed annually.

GOLS is the only internationally recognized standard specifically for organic latex.
