I should have done better research. I don't think this is the best bed for my back. My degenerative disc disease has only gotten worse. I guess I just had a lot going on at the time and wasn't thinking as clearly as I should have when I purchased it.
This was one of our top two choices after trying dozens of mattresses in multiple stores. Quality, construction, and materials are all excellent. Delivery speed and setup were A+. Unfortunately, within days, we found many problems that make it impossible to get a good, full night's sleep. 1) Poor Temperature Regulation: became too hot within minutes. 2) Lack of Support: Felt our bodies sinking slowly all through the night, due to the memory foam layers not providing consistent support. 3) Lack of Resilience: After just two weeks, found our bodies had left deep impressions that did not return to normal. 4) Lack of comfort: we have woken with pain in our backs, buttocks, hips, shoulders, and legs. 5) Irregular surface: the deep tufting creates an uncomfortably uneven sleep surface. All these problems persist even after several weeks. This is despite this being exact model that was our top choice in the showroom. The delivered mattress feels as if it contains considerably more memory foam than the showroom model, and all the negative characteristics of memory foam (heat retention, lack of support, feeling of being trapped in quicksand) have proven far worse than our worst fears. We have been forced to buy mattress toppers, mattress pads, and new pillows just to be able to sleep through the night -- none of which we expected from such an expense, high-quality, brand-name mattress. So unfortunately we do plan on returning our Estate Tight Tip Soft King mattress for a refund.
The estate collection plush changed my sleeping experience. It’s great for me as a side sleeper but is also very comfortable for my back. Great mattress!
Mattress is much thicker than my old firm Beautyrest mattress. Even though I ordered a soft, it isn't quite as soft as I'd have liked. The memory foam top lets me sink in but, I miss the bounce of the old mattress. But, the proof is in the sleeping and I don't have any of the aches and pains that my old mattress gave me. I do sleep much better on this S and F mattress, no doubt about it. I also like the handles built into this mattress, which my old one didn't have. Important note: this mattress is much thicker than my old and had to replace the old 9" foundation with a thinner 5" one, which I ordered from Stearns and Foster. The old foundation with new mattress had me way off the floor! The new foundation is better than the old one, in any case.
Just finished our first night with our new Estate Tight Top mattress. Just wonderful to sleep on. Soft enough to melt into but firm enough to feel supported.
